Fall events have begun early this September, kicking it off with our first home football game against Sunset. As well as Volleyball games, Boys and Girls Soccer, and Boys Cross Country. Every fall sport will have a night to end the season and celebrate graduating seniors with friends & family coming out to support! This will likely be hosted on the last home game of the season. On Saturday, September 28th, we’ll have a two hour fall Day of Service starting at 10:00 am for students and the community to come out and work to maintain our school and surrounding areas!
As homecoming is approaching, so are the activities! On October 4th at 4:30 p.m. in the West Parking Lot, the community is invited for RHS’s annual barbeque. Additionally, tailgate activities will be held by the Softball Field at 5:00 p.m., followed by the kickoff of Roosevelt vs. Lincoln at 7:00 p.m.. Between first and second period on game day there will be a short assembly/pep rally. The homecoming dance will be held in the Roosevelt gym following the game, on Saturday the 5th. This year’s theme is “Meet me at Midnight” and tickets can be purchased for $8 per single ticket or $15 for two. Two people per grade will be nominated and voted for homecoming court and announced at the dance!
Throughout the weeks leading up to homecoming there will be “class comps”, a continuous competition of the grades. These will include games, quizzes and dressing up during homecoming week, all of which earn spirit points. Monday’s theme will be Jorts Day, Tuesday is Rock The Halls- Wear your band, album or concert merch, Wednesday is Wild Wednesday- Wear your animal print, Thursday is Rider Olympics- Rep your Summer Olympics team colors, and Friday will be Hoco Disco! Every class will be invited to decorate their class t-shirts according to the following themes class reps choose: Freshman- Felt markers, Sophomores- Iron on patches, Juniors- Hand prints, and Seniors- ‘25.The winning grade of class comps will be announced at the homecoming football game for a fun end to the competitions!
