For this month’s club, we’re highlighting the Student Health Action Council (SHAC). Advised by Fardosa Yusuf, they meet every Wednesday during lunch in room 153. Their goal is to discuss and educate on important health issues, working together with our student health center and encourage communities to make healthier choices. Last year, they organized and ran an incredibly successful blood drive, and they hope to bring more health based events to the school community. Fardosa says, “With this platform, members have the chance to use their voice to advocate and spread awareness to their peers, as well as gaining valuable skills. We currently have over 30 students on the email list and students can still join! Our members are in the planning process for health projects like blood drives, informational content, and de-stress kits. Stay tuned to see our first event!”
