The Giving Tree is an event where you can sign up to buy a gift for younger students in need at our local elementary and middle schools. When you sign up, you are assigned a number corresponding with a student’s wishlist. You then have until December 12th at 3:30 pm to turn in that gift to the front office of Roosevelt High School, before your gifts are given to students for the holidays. The Giving Tree helps and builds bonds throughout the community, and gives people a chance to show their holiday spirit.
The Gift Wrapping for Giving Tree is on December 13th at Roosevelt High School in the commons. The Roosevelt Student Council will be hosting a gift-wrapping event where people can wrap all sorts of gifts donated to The Giving Tree. It helps get all the gifts wrapped and ready for the kids in the community, so stop by and have a lot of fun.
The Choir concert is on December 16th from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm in Roosevelt’s auditorium. It is free entry, and the choir will be performing holiday songs. Stop by and support!
The Jazz concert is on December 16th at 7:30 pm at the Portland Center Stage. Roosevelt’s Jazz Band will be opening for Brown/Branch Big Band, and tickets are $40. This will be the third year they have opened for them.
The Band concert is on December 18th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Roosevelt’s auditorium. It will feature the Concert Band, Intermediate and Advanced Jazz Band, the wind ensemble, and the Symphonic Band. They will be playing Christmas and Charlie Brown songs for the holidays, along with some other music.
